Calling All Mini Picassos đŸŽš

Art Lab on the Lawn is bringing family-friendly creativity to Greenport, thanks to Artfully Long Island, Petite North Fork, and Hotel Moraine. From April to October, kids can dive into hands-on art sessions using recycled and upcycled materials all with a stunning Long Island Sound backdrop.

Each session is 1.5 hours, totally drop-in style, and just $15 per artist. The first one kicks off Sunday, April 27, at 11 a.m.

Bonus: Hotel Moraine makes it a whole family affair with adjoining rooms, free cribs, and a kid-friendly menu.

From Dominoes to Donations đŸ„Ł

Oysterponds Elementary just pulled off a cereal stunt for a good cause! The school’s third annual cereal box domino challenge brought in 441 boxes of cereal, all donated to the Center for Advocacy, Support and Transformation (CAST).

March was all about collecting boxes, with third and fourth graders leading the charge. The grand finale? A massive domino-style toppling in the gym, spelling out an “R” in honor of the sixth-grade team, the "Rizzios." School counselor Veronica Stelzer started the challenge, inspired by her mom’s belief that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

Beyond the fun, this challenge helped stock CAST’s food pantry, ensuring kids in the community get the breakfast they need to start their day strong. ($)

Vote for the Coast 🌊

Southold’s wetlands and waterways are up for debate this November, as six candidates compete for three open seats on the Southold Town Trustees. These folks oversee more than 2,000 acres of underwater land and play a big role in coastal management.

Who’s in the race? Incumbents Liz Gillooly and Eric Sepenoski are looking to hold onto their spots, while fellow Trustee Elizabeth Peeples is stepping down. Shelter Island town engineer Joe Finora joins them on the Democratic ticket.

On the Republican side, real estate pro Terri Boyle Romanelli, lifelong bayman Nathan Andruski, and vineyard owner/firefighter Pindar Damianos are hoping to shake things up.

Each candidate brings something different to the table:

Gillooly- Is all about transparency and environmental stewardship.
Sepenoski- Wants to keep Southold’s waters clean and accessible.
Finora- a marine engineer and oyster farmer, says his technical expertise gives him an edge.
Boyle Romanelli- wants to balance conservation with property rights.
Andruski- is laser-focused on shellfish restoration and water quality.
Damianos- wants to protect the shorelines from overdevelopment while making sure government doesn’t overreach.

Three of them will help shape Southold’s coastal policies for the next four years. The question is—who’s getting your vote?
