Summer Tastes Better at Little Fish ๐
There are certain foods that just taste better by the water.
Maybe it's the salt air. Maybe it's the extra hour of daylight. Or maybe it's the fact that once summer starts creeping in, nobody wants to be anywhere else.
At Little Fish, beachside season is fully on.
The outdoor tables are back in rhythm, live music drifts through the evening air, and the menu is made for long evenings by the Beach.
Start with local oysters topped with charred pineapple relish. Add an order of day boat catch ceviche with homemade tortilla chips. Then try not to fight over the last spicy tuna tartare taquito.
Add a cold drink, a few friends, and a sunset over the water, and you've got yourself a picture perfect day.
Summer hours have officially arrived:
โข Lunch 7 Days a Week (12โ3 PM)
โข Dinner 7 Days a Week (5โ9 PM)
โข Friday & Saturday Dinner Extended Until 10 PM
More sunsets. More beach dinners. More reasons to grab a table outside.
Live music this week:
- Wednesday: Emy McB 6-9 PM
- Friday: Frank Palmeri 6-9 PM
- Saturday: Julia King 6-9 PM
Reservations are live at littlefishnofo.com or by calling (631) 765-8756
See you at the beach!

The Lowdown
Federal Funding ๐ฐ
Southold Town Police are getting some new wheels and upgraded equipment thanks to more than $1 million in federal funding announced by Congressman Nick LaLota.
The funding will pay for 10 new Ford Explorers and F-150s for patrol officers, along with 20 dual band radios that will make it easier for Southold officers to communicate with other emergency agencies during incidents and emergencies.
LaLota also shared an update on a long awaited project in Mattituck. He expects the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to dredge Mattituck Inlet this fall, with special attention given to Bailie Beach, where erosion has become a growing concern.
The beach has been edging closer to a breach, prompting the Mattituck Park District to gather nearly 800 petition signatures after a planned 2025 dredging project was delayed.

Bastille Day ๐ซ๐ท
Demarchelier Bistro is once again transforming Main Street into a little slice of Paris for Bastille Day on Tuesday, July 14, complete with French flags, fresh flowers, over 50 traditional cockades, a pastis bar, and a livestream of the fireworks from Paris.
Owner Emily Demarchelier has hosted the celebration every year since opening the restaurant in 2020, carrying on traditions inspired by her parents' iconic Manhattan restaurant.
This year's festivities could get even livelier thanks to the World Cup Semifinal kicking off at 3 PM. France supporters have already been gathering at the bistro throughout the tournament, turning match days into unofficial neighborhood watch parties.

PCS New Head of School ๐ฉโ๐ซ
Peconic Community School is starting a new chapter.
As the school prepares for its first full academic year at its newly acquired Cutchogue campus, longtime educator Rachel Gomez Peterson has stepped into the role of Head of School.
Peterson brings more than two decades of experience from independent schools across the country.
Rather than arriving with a long list of immediate changes, Peterson says her first year will focus on listening, relationship building, and understanding what already makes the school unique. She described the approach as moving "at the speed of trust" while helping shape a shared vision for the future. ($)

Italian Makeover ๐ฎ๐น
Claudio's Restaurant has officially reopened as Amalfi at Claudio's, bringing a taste of Italy's Amalfi Coast to the marina with a new menu focused on seafood, handmade pastas, and southern Italian favorites.
The concept comes from the team behind the popular Amalfi restaurant in Hampton Bays and marks one of the biggest changes to the historic Claudio's property in years. While the transformation was originally expected before summer, ownership kept the restaurant open during the busy season and completed the final touches behind the scenes.
The restaurant joins Claudio's Waterfront, Saylor Beach House, Peter's Pizza, and Le Shack Beach as part of the ever evolving Greenport waterfront destination, which is also rolling out a packed summer calendar featuring movie nights, disco parties, oyster pairings, tequila celebrations, and more.

Forest Bathing ๐ฒ
A new exhibition at Vine + Sand is bringing the feeling of a quiet walk through the woods indoors with Forest Bathing, a collaborative show featuring Greenport ceramic artist Dena A. Zemsky and painter Robert Bentley.
Inspired by the Japanese practice of shinrin-yoku, immersing yourself in nature to slow down and reset. The exhibition pairs Bentley's atmospheric tree portraits with Zemsky's richly textured ceramic sea nymph totems.
The two artists have been friends for more than 50 years, dating back to their days working in New York City's Soho restaurant scene in the 1970s. Despite decades of friendship, this marks the first time they've exhibited their work together.
