The Lowdown
Art and Antiques 🖼️
There’s a new creative stop on Front Street, Feuerherm and Hoff, a new art and antiques shop, has opened at 400 Front St. in Greenport, bringing together vintage art, furniture, textiles, lighting, pottery, and thoughtfully restored objects with plenty of history behind them. The shop also offers restoration services.
The space is the work of partners Lisa Feuerherm and Mark Hoff, who recently made Greenport home. Inside, you’ll find a curated mix of 19th and 20th century art, mid-century modern furniture, ethnographic textiles, and pieces with a slight lean toward outsider art.

Bliss Morehead Poetry Grant 📖
The Shelter Island Library is now accepting applications for the fifth annual Bliss Morehead Poetry Grant, a $1,000 award given each April to the winner of its annual poetry competition. The grant is open to unpublished poets age 17 and older who live on the East End, from Riverhead east.
The award honors the legacy of Bliss Morehead, a Shelter Island poet and founder of the Shelter Island Poetry Project, who dedicated her life to writing, studying, and sharing poetry within the community.
The 2026 theme is “War and Peace,” inviting poets to explore the tension, complexity, and quiet moments that exist between the two.
Submissions are due by Friday, March 20. Winners and runners-up will be announced on April 10 and invited to read their work at a public poetry reading at the library on April 30.

Animal of The Week
Meet Breezy, a gorgeous adult tortoiseshell with expressive golden eyes and a deep, smoky coat that’s even prettier in person.
Breezy is the kind of cat who makes you pause mid-sentence because she’s already climbed into your lap like she lives there. She’s genuinely affectionate, enjoys being held, and will happily settle in close for quality cuddle time. Her personality is the perfect balance: confident without being pushy, curious about her surroundings, and calm enough to make any space feel instantly more like home.
If you’re looking for a loving lap cat with a little tortie charm and a lot of heart, Breezy is ready to meet you.

Trivia Time 🧠
Your brain deserves more than scrolling and skimming. Each week we’ll hit you with one question designed to make you pause, scratch your head, and maybe argue with whoever’s sitting next to you. Think of it as a quick mental pit stop: a chance to flex your random knowledge, test your memory, or finally use that obscure fact you learned in 7th grade.
