Baking Her Way to Fame 🎂
Meet Christina Padrazo, a Long Island native who traded corporate life for cake life, and it’s paying off in sprinkles. She ditched the desk job in 2019, dropped $30K on a retro 1964 pink Shasta Airflyte trailer (her name’s Stella, thank you very much), and started slinging sweets.
Then came the DM that changed everything: in 2022, she messaged comedian Hannah Berner with a bold pitch, let me bake your wedding cake. Berner said yes. And suddenly, Christina had a line of celeb clients longer than a bakery queue on Sunday morning. We’re talking Amy Schumer, Paige DeSorbo, and more.
That momentum? It led to The Treatery, her brick-and-mortar bakery in Jamesport. Since then, she’s made a cameo in Schumer’s Netflix film Kinda Pregnant and designed adorable custom cookies for Ria Ciuffo’s wedding (if you know, you know).
As for her signature treat? The Doughlato. Picture this: a warm brioche donut hugging scoops of gelato. It’s as dreamy as it sounds.
Moral of the story? Follow your dreams. And maybe follow Christina too.

Dredge Report 🚧
Got sand? Mattituck Inlet sure does, but not for long. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is firing up the ol’ Brandy Station (that’s their dredging vessel, not a jazz band) this fall to scoop out 6,000 cubic yards of sand.
Why? To keep the inlet at a smooth-sailing seven feet deep at low tide, because no one likes a surprise grounding. The project is carefully timed to start after shorebird season and should wrap in about 45 days, all while keeping the channel open to boats.
The $2.5 million job is backed by the 2022 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and when they’re done scooping, all that sand will get piped over to the Long Island Sound side of Bailie Beach. Think of it as nature’s version of beach delivery. ($)

North Fork TV Fest Turns 10 🎬
Cue the clapperboard: The North Fork TV Festival is back for its 10th season, rolling into Sound View on June 17 like it owns the red carpet.
Founded by Noah Doyle, this isn’t your average popcorn-and-Netflix event. It's a big deal for small screens, where fresh creators get to shine, pilots premiere, and industry pros drop wisdom like Emmy-worthy monologues.
This year’s fest is doubling down on what made it great: bold storytelling, panels that go behind the scenes, and serious support for up-and-coming talent. According to Doyle, it’s all about giving the next generation of TV voices a platform, and the mic is definitely on.
The 2025 lineup? Expect everything from laugh-out-loud comedies to dramas that’ll have you texting “you have to watch this.”

Dog of The Week
Looking for a pup that brings the party and the snuggles? Poncho is your guy. This 9-month-old bundle of energy is equal parts silly, sweet, and outrageously fluffy. He’s obsessed with fetch, belly rubs, and making new human BFFs (he assumes everyone is already on his fan list).
Poncho’s ideal match? An active family who’s ready to keep up with zoomies, adventures, and all the love this happy-go-lucky pup has to give. His tail never stops wagging—and with you in his life, we’re pretty sure it never will.
Ready to add 30 pounds of pure joy to your life? Poncho’s waiting. come meet Poncho at the Aquebogue location from 10-3 PM.

Calling all young Picassos, Spielbergs, and Future Broadway Stars 🤩
This summer, the North Fork Arts Center (a.k.a. Greenport’s creative HQ) is turning up the volume on imagination. The 2025 Summer Workshops are here, and they’re packed with more artistic energy than a classroom full of kids on the last day of school.
Here’s the scoop:
📕 Craft A Book Proposal (ages 16+): Get the inside scoop on the publishing world as Stephen Morrow, former Simon & Schuster exec, helps you craft nonfiction book proposals that actually sell, with hands-on tips and honest feedback.
😂 Improv Workshop (ages 12–16): Perfect for teens who love to think on their feet, or just want an excuse to be a little dramatic (in the best way).
🎭 Puppet Camp (ages 7–12): Kids design it, build it, and bring it to life, where googly eyes meet big imaginations for a week of storytelling, stage time, and serious creative fun.
🎬 Audition Workshop (ages 16+): Master the art of self-tapes and monologues, and maybe even prep for your Oscar moment.
But wait, there's more:
🎤 Page to Stage Camp (ages 7–12): Kids bring the noise, and the moves, in this high-energy musical theater camp where singing, dancing, acting, and pure imagination come together.
🎥 Filmmaking 101 (ages 14+): Learn how to shoot, edit, and yell “Cut!” like a pro. Spoiler alert: You’ll even walk away with your own short film.
🖊️ Comic Book Illustration (ages 10+): Led by Emmy-winner Dean Haspiel. Create your own superhero. Or villain. No judgment.
Whether your kid dreams of the stage, the big screen, or the pages of a graphic novel, NFAC’s Summer Workshops are the ultimate artsy adventure. And who knows, you might be raising the next big name in Hollywood, Broadway, or MoMA.
