VSOP Projects’ Next Chapter šŸŽØ

After nearly a decade of bringing bold, thought-provoking art to the North Fork, VSOP Projects is preparing to close its Greenport gallery and head north. Founder and director Jonathan Weiskopf announced this week that he’ll relocate the gallery to the Hudson Valley in 2026.

Before he goes, he’s throwing one last party, a final group exhibition opening November 15, featuring a tight circle of local artists who’ve shaped VSOP’s story from the start. The gallery will stay open through the end of the year for weekend viewings, open houses, and by appointment.

Over its nine years, VSOP Projects has hosted 40 solo shows, 32 group exhibitions, and countless performances, pop-ups, and art fair appearances.

Front Street Falls Into the Spotlight šŸ‚

Front Street just made a national ā€œbest ofā€ list.

Greenport’s charming main drag ranked No. 36 on MarketBeat’s Top 125 Main Streets for Fall Shopping in 2025, joining just two other New York contenders: Beacon’s Main Street (No. 22) and Rochester’s Park Avenue, which snagged the top spot.

MarketBeat’s write-up reads: ā€œFront Street in Greenport carries a maritime calm through autumn’s chill. Burton’s Bookstore features a carefully curated selection of fiction and nonfiction, while Aldo’s Coffee Company serves house-roasted brews beside the harbor’s still water.ā€

They also gave props to the signature fall scene, pumpkins and mums lining the brick sidewalks, sailboats bobbing in the bay, and locals wandering between bakeries, galleries, and cozy coffee shops once the summer crowds fade.

BID Takes the Helm āš“ļø

Big news last week after three decades at the helm, the East End Seaport Museum is handing off the wheel of Greenport’s beloved Maritime Festival. But don’t worry, this ship isn’t sinking, it’s just getting a new captain.

Starting in 2026, the Greenport Business Improvement District (BID) will take charge of organizing the festival while the museum refocuses on its core mission: modernizing exhibits, restoring Bug Lighthouse, and expanding year-round education and conservation programs.
