Greenport’s Election Just Got Spicy 🔥

With just days to go before the March 18 vote, Deputy Mayor Mary Bess Phillips resigned—but not without controversy. Mayor Kevin Stuessi says he asked her to step down after learning she and her husband owe up to $100,000 in unpaid taxes and bills.

Phillips? She’s calling BS. She says her resignation has nothing to do with the debt and everything to do with losing faith in the mayor’s leadership.

But here’s the kicker—she’s still running for re-election as a village trustee. Five candidates, two open seats… buckle up, Greenport. ($)

New Coffee Alert ☕️

Say hello to Macchiato, the newest coffee spot in town, now open at 13175 Main Road in Mattituck. Sue & Tal Inbar, the power duo behind NYC’s Macchiato Espresso Bar, whose first location opened up in 2006, have officially brought their signature brews to the North Fork after relocating to Cutchogue during the pandemic.

Taking over the old Meat’s Meat BBQ space, Macchiato is serving up craft coffee, sandwiches, salads, and pastries in a bright, welcoming café. Their exclusive Macchiato 44 blend, made in collaboration with Seattle’s Fonté Coffee, promises a slow-roasted, naturally sweet finish—only available at Macchiato locations.
