Get Ready to Take the Leap 🎶
The 2nd Annual Quantum Leap Music Festival lands at Borghese Vineyard on August 14–17, and it's bringing some serious star power with it. We’re talking more than a dozen Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated artists playing right here on the North Fork. Yeah, that’s a first.
Presented by NOLA2NOFO, Quantum Leap is a one-of-a-kind mashup of New Orleans soul and North Fork charm. Think jazz, funk, soul, and rhythm wrapped in vineyard views and local flavor.
Even better? It’s curated and hosted by none other than NEA Jazz Master Big Chief Donald Harrison Jr. a living legend bringing big NOLA energy to our backyard.
This isn’t just a music festival. It’s a cultural exchange. A celebration of two grassroots communities vibing together through music, food, and soul.
Prices rise after July 31, get your tickets today and be part of something unforgettable. Find the full lineup and details 👉 Here

The Lowdown
Teens Tackle the Tap 💧
Two Mattituck High School seniors just proved that saving the planet isn’t just for the grown-ups.
Ryan Harned and Zoe King spent the past school year working with the North Fork Environmental Council to answer one big question: How can we help protect Southold’s water? And spoiler alert, they’ve got answers.
The duo presented their findings to the Southold Town Water Advisory Committee earlier this month, smack in the middle of a Long Island-wide Stage One Water Alert.
Ryan and Zoe broke it down like pros, explaining how over-pumping, saltwater intrusion, and contaminants (think: PFAS, nitrogen, and even gasoline additives) are threatening the fragile underground aquifer that supplies the North Fork’s drinking water. They also showed how everyday things like long showers and leaky hoses are making it worse.
But they didn’t stop at the problems, they brought receipts and solutions. We’re talking shorter showers, smarter irrigation, upgraded septic systems, and fewer fertilizers. And yes, they even submitted written testimony supporting smart irrigation systems at the town’s recent hearing.

Ospreys Come Up Just Short ⚾️
The North Fork Ospreys gave it everything they had in the 2025 Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League Championship, but the South Shore Clippers brought a few too many fireworks to the party.
Final score: Clippers 11, Ospreys 9.
After falling behind 7–1, the Ospreys caught fire in the fifth inning. Thomas Matuszewski cleared the bases with a clutch double. Then Nick Pratt stepped up and absolutely launched a two-run homer to cut the lead to one.
But the Clippers weren’t done. Their fifth home run of the day, pushed the lead back to 11–8. North Fork scratched one across in the ninth, but the comeback stalled there.
Credit to the Ospreys, they didn’t go down quietly. Big bats, late drama, and a never-say-die attitude.

Bump, Set, Heal 🏐
Breakwater Beach is about to bring the good vibes and the big hearts.
Billy’s Will-Power Volleyball Tournament is back for its third year on Saturday, August 9, and it’s more than just a beach day. It’s a powerful reminder of what community looks like, all for Billy Hickox.
In March 2023, Billy was a junior at Bryant University when a sudden illness, acute transverse myelitis, changed everything. Within days, he lost his vision and mobility. It’s been a long road filled with setbacks, surgeries, and serious resilience.
But if you know Billy, you know he doesn’t back down. And neither does the community.
The first tournament kicked off the month he came home, and it’s grown into a full-on beach bash with 4v4 competitive and 6v6 rec volleyball, Roadhouse pizza, music, raffles, a bake sale, and a very enviable golf foursome at Baiting Hollow up for grabs.
Last year? They raised $50,000 for Billy’s recovery and the Will Power Trust, a fund now helping others in need too. ($)
