🐝 Our Bad, Here’s the Fix

Good Morning (again), North Fork! Even The Buzz has an off day. Earlier we shared the wrong link in The Lowdown (oops 😬). We’re making it right, correct link included, no detours this time.

The Lowdown

Boats, Mermaids & Maritime Magic ⚓️

Greenport’s biggest weekend is here, the East End Seaport Museum’s Maritime Festival is about to turn downtown into a waterfront playground.

Boats You’ll Wanna Board

  • Ida May – A 50-foot, engine-powered oyster dredge open for tours all weekend + a sunset sail Saturday.

  • Fireboat Fire Fighter – The legendary FDNY boat that pumped water at Ground Zero is back in Greenport.

Parade, Mermaids & Cardboard Chaos

  • Parade – 11 AM Saturday, with Paul Kreiling as Grand Marshal.

  • Blessing of the Waters – Right after the parade (yes, someone jumps in to grab a cross).

  • Merry Merfolk Contest – Cheer on your favorite pirates & mermaids.

  • Cardboard Boat Regatta – Sunday at noon, brave souls race boats made of, you guessed it, cardboard.

Music, Food & More:
Sea shanties at Mitchell Park by Ethel’s Mermen (Saturday 1 p.m.), Bangers & Mash (2–5 p.m.), and Fiddler’s Green (Sunday 1 p.m.). Plus food trucks, oyster + wine tastings, kayak races, snapper fishing, and the Paul Drum Pirate & Mermaid Breakfast.

Wrap it up Sunday with raffle drawings from Greenport FD & Eastern Long Island Hospital.
