Zoning Shake-Up ⚖️

Big zoning changes are coming to Southold! The town is dropping its draft zoning code updates on April 1st, and they want your input. You can check out the proposed updates—including standardized definitions and zoning tweaks—at southoldzoningupdate.com, along with an interactive map showing changes by parcel.

Public meetings with business groups and civic associations are set for May and June, and residents have four months to weigh in before a final vote later this year. Got thoughts on Southold’s future? Now’s the time to speak up! ($)

Too Cute to Miss 🦦

The Long Island Aquarium just got a whole lot cuter! Four North American river otter pups made their debut on February 6, courtesy of proud parents Stark and Flo. At six weeks old, they’re just starting to open their eyes and wiggle around—soon, they’ll be splashing their way into swim lessons with Flo leading the way.

But don’t wait too long to see them. Once they’re all grown up, these little swimmers will head to new homes. For now, you can catch all the otterly adorable action at the aquarium’s river otter exhibit. ($)
