The 9th Annual North Fork Dog Dock Diving Weekend is making waves—literally. This year, it’s diving into a new location: the Greenport Polo Grounds on Moores Lane. Mark your calendars for June 7 & 8, 9-5 PM because there will be dogs. There will be splashes. There might even be snacks.

Hosted by Kim Loper of Harbor Pet, this crowd-favorite event is more than just dogs yeeting themselves into pools. It’s a celebration of community, wagging tails, and this year, fundraising for the Greenport Skate Park Revitalization Project. That’s right—your dog’s cannonball could help build ramps.

The weekend lineup:

• Elite-level doggy dock diving

• Local vendors with all the goods

• Limited-edition swag bags (get there early)

• Food and beer from the Greenport Fire Department

• Good vibes only

Sushi Speakeasy 🍣

We love trying new food spots, scouting out hidden gems, taste-testing the hype, and sharing it with you. But sometimes, the real surprise isn’t in the new, it’s in the places you thought you knew.

We swung by Maroni in Southold the other night for takeout and did what any rational human would do, grabbed a tray of meatballs and that ridiculously good cheesy garlic bread. It’s our go-to move, and honestly, it never misses. Plus we have leftovers the next day. If you haven’t done this yourself, we highly recommend doing it.

But here’s the buzz: if you’re only thinking “meatballs and marinara,” you’re missing half the magic. Tuesday nights = Sushi Nights. Yep, this cozy little Italian joint does a full 180 on Tuesdays and rolls out fresh, high-quality sushi. Think beautifully sliced sashimi, seriously good rolls and a totally unexpected twist from a place known for red sauce.

It’s like a secret sushi speakeasy, just with the comforting scent of meatballs still hanging in the air.

Next Tuesday, do yourself a favor and hit up Maroni for sushi night. You’ll leave wondering how an Italian spot pulls off rolls that good.

Any other night? Three words: cheesy. garlic. bread. It’s so good you’ll start recommending it to strangers.
