There were calls for creative housing solutions, talk of better communication with Fishers Island, and plenty of opinions on how the town should manage its water and open land in the years ahead.

If youāve flipped open this monthās Danās Papers North Fork, youāve already seen Patricia Feilerās latest masterpiece: Autumn Afternoon at Sparkling Pointe.
Feiler, a Mattituck painter with a serious knack for capturing vineyard light, was driving by Sparkling Pointe one crisp afternoon when the sun hit the vines just right. She grabbed her easel, came back the next day, and turned that moment into art.
Her style? Quick, colorful, and fearless. She paints en plein air (thatās artist-speak for āoutsideā), often improvising with whateverās around ā a beach chair, a pickup truck, even a barbecue grill.
When sheās not painting, Feilerās organizing Art in the Garden, a Mattituck fundraiser that brings local artists together to support causes like CAST, Johnās Place, and the Butterfly Effect Project.
You can catch her work now in āRenderings and Reflectionsā at the Reboli Center in Stony Brook (through Nov. 2), or at her next curated show at Borghese Vineyard starting Nov. 6.
