Brush Fires Update 🔥🌲🚨

Someone tried making s'mores for breakfast, and it ended with over 90 fire departments battling massive brush fires across Long Island. The flames kicked off Saturday morning when cardboard-fueled embers took flight, sparking fires that spread over 2 miles through the Pine Barrens and Westhampton.

Despite high winds, crews knocked down the blazes by Sunday. One building was destroyed, another damaged, and two firefighters were injured (they’re thankfully okay).

Let this be a reminder: s'mores and gusty mornings don’t mix!

Bigger Backyard Dreams 🏠🏊‍♀️

Got multiple small lots in Southold? Good news — the Town Board just made life easier. On March 4, they updated the zoning code so if you own adjacent substandard parcels, they can now merge automatically.

No more headaches trying to meet minimum lot sizes! This means more room for that pool, guest house, or dream backyard expansion. Councilman Greg Doroski and Supervisor Al Krupski say the change makes property upgrades simpler and helps clean up nonconforming lots. Big win for local landowners! ($)
