The Lowdown

Jamesport Farm Brewery Gets a Fresh Pour 🍻

Jamesport Farm Brewery is back, and under new ownership. The torch has officially been passed from founders Anthony and Melissa Caggiano to Kirk and Joe Weiss and their longtime pal Nick Giuffre. You might know the trio from Long Island Farm Brewery at Waterdrinker Family Farms.

The Weisses are fifth-generation farmers, which means they’ve been growing stuff longer than some of us have been drinking beer.

So what’s new?

• Expanded weekday hours ‘til 8 PM (perfect for the after-work crowd)

• Live acoustic music on Friday nights (starting late June)

• Food trucks every day

• No more cover charge

• Kid- and dog-friendly vibes

Coming soon: a new summer blonde, fresh vendor popups (oysters + beer = yes please), and crowlers to-go (think growlers, but in 32 oz cans that stay fresh for weeks).

No reservations. No outside food. And if you roll up in a party bus, call ahead. Everything else? First come, first sip.

Beach Days Just Got Better 🏖️

Shoutout to Mattituck’s Girl Scout Troop 2981, who just earned their Bronze Award, and made summer a little more fun while they were at it.

With help from Justin Cobis of Cutchogue, the troop built a beach toy share box that’ll live at Veterans Beach. Think of it like a little free library, but for buckets, shovels, and sandcastle dreams.

Kids can borrow toys while they’re at the beach, then pop them back in when they’re done. Simple and Smart.

The project capped off the Scouts’ “junior journey”, aka the Girl Scout version of leveling up. Huge props to troop leaders Bryanne Kmiotek and Kristin Ulmet for guiding the girls through from blueprints to Bronze.

Next time you see that box at the beach, you’ll know exactly who to thank. ($)

To celebrate the launch of Vodka Currant, a tart and brambly new summer collab with C.Cassis, The Lin is throwing it down in classic fashion: cocktails, wood-fired pizza, and all the good vibes.

From 6–10 PM, Leslie and Rachael will be behind the bar mixing up 90s-inspired drinks. Out front, Pizza Rita will be serving their signature pies straight from the fire. More Info

🐾 North Fork Dock Diving Weekend Get ready for tail wags and big air, Harbor Pet’s 9th Annual North Fork Dock Diving Weekend is back Saturday and Sunday, now at its brand-new home: The Polo Grounds on Moores Lane in Greenport.

🐕 Saturday brings the launch with Big Air long jumps and Extreme Vertical high jumps.
🐾 Sunday ups the splash factor with more Big Air, Speed Retrieve races, and the epic Dock Diving Finals.

Off the dock, you’ll find food trucks, vendors, family fun. A portion of proceeds goes to the Greenport Skate Park. More Info

🏓 Pickleball Tournaments Get ready to serve up some fun at Southold Historical Museum’s “History in the Making” Pickleball Tournaments.
