Art, History & Printmaking 🎨

A century-old art studio, a killer bay view, and a printing press with serious history. Welcome to the summer vibes at Wendy Prellwitz’s place in Peconic.

Wendy, painter, printmaker, and proud great-granddaughter of Peconic Art Colony legends Edith and Henry Prellwitz, is opening her family's waterfront studio for two exclusive printmaking workshops.

Workshop Deets
In collab with North Fork Contemporary, Wendy’s offering hands-on sessions with only 5 spots each:
June 14–15: Monotypes + woodcuts with Wendy herself
June 28–29: Intaglio magic with print pro Lorena Salcedo (she's kind of a big deal at Stony Brook)

$450 includes all materials + lunch. Sign up here 👉 North Fork Contemporary

Bonus: She’s working to get the whole property on the National Register of Historic Places. Because history + art = a perfect North Fork pairing.

New Captain at the Helm 🚢

There’s a new skipper steering the ship at the East End Seaport Museum in Greenport: Erin Kimmel just dropped anchor as the museum’s new director, and she’s bringing an ocean of experience with her.

Erin’s got serious art cred, 15+ years in curating, fundraising, and nonprofit magic. She’s worked with big names like The Water Mill Center, ArtForum, and Ballroom Marfa, and she’s currently working on her Ph.D. in art history at Stony Brook.

Erin’s vision mixes art, science, and history into one awesome tidepool of programming:

  • Collabs with Orient State Park and Stony Brook University

  • Shell-themed exhibits

  • Guided walks

  • Science talks with a splash of local flavor

Oh, and did we mention she’s also an avid sailor? So yes, she really gets the water. Looks like the museum’s future is full steam ahead.($)

Tuckers Take the Title (and Sweet Revenge)🥍

The Mattituck/Greenport/Southold girls lacrosse squad just snatched the Suffolk County Class D crown—again, with a 13–6 takedown of Babylon on Saturday, May 31.

This wasn’t just a win, it was payback. Babylon beat the Tuckers last year, but this time, it wasn’t even close.

That’s two county titles in three years for the Tuckers, and they’re not done yet. They’ll face Cold Spring Harbor in the Long Island Championship at Adelphi University on Tuesday, June 3 at 11:30 AM. Let’s go, Tuckers!
