The Lowdown
🌊 Peconic Bay’s Super Low Tides—What’s Going On? 🌊
👀 Noticing extra-low tides in Peconic Bay lately? You’re not alone. Experts say a mix of strong winds 🌬, moon phases 🌝, and atmospheric pressure is behind the unusual water levels. While it’s not a sign of anything alarming, boaters and shellfish harvesters should take note—some usual routes might be trickier to navigate. ($)
🚀 Scott’s Pointe Just Leveled Up! 🎉
Parents, rejoice 🤗—Scott’s Pointe in Calverton just gave its Kids’ Room a major glow-up! No more splitting time between big-kid thrills and little-kid letdowns. Now, toddlers and tweens alike can jump, climb, race, and play all in one spot. Highlights? A multi-level explorer course, trampolines with a foam pit, a kid-friendly climbing wall, and a massive new soft play area. Translation: hours of energy-burning fun.
🚨 Heroic Rescue in Greenport! 🚨
During a late-night snowstorm, a 1-year-old baby stopped breathing—but thanks to the fast-acting Greenport Fire Rescue Squad & Southold Police, he’s alive today. First responders arrived within minutes, with Officer Patrick Anderson setting up an AED while firefighter Sam Strickland Jr. performed CPR and back slaps until the baby took his first breath again. Medics transported him to the hospital, where he continued to improve. Huge shoutout to these real-life heroes!

Dog of the week

Drama 🐶 is a cattle dog mix, who may be shy at first but once he warms up the love won’t stop. He is Curious, Friendly and Loves Kisses 👅. He would do best in a home where he can get plenty of exercise and outdoor time. He does well with other dogs in the home, but would prefer one without a cat.
